James Eddy

James S. Eddy, 52, of Laurel, Md., and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at his home. He was born July 29, 1953, in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of the late Alexander Sherwood and Edna Smider Eddy. Mr. Eddy, a resident of the Washington, D. C. area for the last several years, was a 1972 graduate of Western Pennsylvania for the Deaf. He received an Associate of Applied Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. He was founder and past executive director of the Pittsburgh Deaf Theatre. Mr. Eddy worked as a sign language instructor and interpreter, as well as a caregiver for special needs adults. He was a Protestant by faith. Surviving are a brother, John Eddy and his wife, Connie of Murrysville, Pa., and a sister, Laraine Metheny and her husband Steven of Elkins, W.Va. and two nieces, Lisa Eddy Grublis and Megan Metheny Jones. Friends will be received from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., the hour of a memorial service on Saturday, July 29, 2006, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. The Rev. Harold O. Kelley will officiate. Interment of his cremains will follow at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
