Grace Oktela

Grace M. Oktela, 85, of Melbourne, Fla. and formerly of Palmer, Pa. and Carmichaels, Pa., died at 12:25 P.M. on Monday, April 2, 2007 at Wuesthoff Medical Center, Melbourne. She was born August 16, 1921 in Canada, a daughter of the late VanBuren and Gladys (Matthews) Whetsel. On February 13, 1941, she married Louis Oktela, who died April 19, 2002. Surviving are two sons, Richard L. Oktela and his wife, Gladys of Melbourne and Samuel F. Oktela and his wife, Gloria of Palmer; a daughter, Jeanne Demuth and her husband, Ed of Melbourne; four grandchildren, Steven Oktela and his wife, Denise, Joyce Grant and her husband, Kevin, Kevin Gallant and his wife, Holly and Brandon Oktela and his wife, Rhoda; six great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Whetsel of the State of Indiana; a sister, Dorothy Reagan of Masontown, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. A private blessing service was held on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the mausoleum chapel at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa. with the Rev. John M. Bauer officiating. Entombment followed at the mausoleum.
