Robert Metcalf

Robert L. (T. C.) Metcalf, 55, of Nemacolin, Pa., died at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born May 13, 1951 in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of Pauline C. (Bell) Metcalf of Bobtown, Pa. and the late Paul Warner Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf was a retired coal miner and served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 of Carmichaels and the Dry Tavern Sportsman's Club. Mr. Metcalf enjoyed fishing and cherished the company of his grandchildren. Surviving are three sons, Robert L. Metcalf of Crucible, Pa., Jeremiah L. Metcalf of Nemacolin and Mark W. Metcalf of Uniontown, Pa.; a daughter, Kelly Gene Welsh and her husband William of Crucible; five grandchildren, Thomas Simpkins, Leslie Simpkins, Haley Simpkins, Elissa Metcalf and Angelina Metcalf; five brothers, Gary W. Metcalf and his wife, Wilda and Mark W. Metcalf and his wife, Colette, both of Carmichaels, Roger Paul Metcalf of Confluence, Pa., Carey Allen Metcalf and his wife, Mary of Fairchance, Pa. and Terry Lane Metcalf and his wife, Carol of Carmichaels; four sisters, Linda Diane Metcalf of Bobtown, Lana E. White and her husband, Edward of Rocky Mount, N. C., Paula Y. Orsky of Bobtown, wife of the late Gary Orsky and Pamela Lynn Woodring and her husband, James, Jr. of Waynesburg, Pa.; his former wife, Kathy G. Metcalf of Harrisburg, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcomed from 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at Highland Cemetery, Davistown, Pa. with Pastor John Rich Dorean officiating. Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 and Cumberland American Legion Post 3491 will accord military honors at the graveside.
