Dorothy A. Hopton

Dorothy A. Hopton, 85, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 1:44 P.M. on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She was born March 27, 1930 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Betty (Bino) Krutko. Mrs. Hopton attended Cumberland Township schools and resided in Cumberland Township all of her life. She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carmichaels and worked at Greenway Manufacturing in Waynesburg, Pa. for 13 years. On November 25, 1947 she married Harold G. Hopton, who died December 3, 1987. Surviving are two sons, Jerry H. Hopton and his wife, Chrissy, of Mather, Pa. and Thomas J. Hopton and his wife, Andrea, of Carmichaels; three daughters, Shirley A. Pelkey at home, Diane M. Swan of Beaver, Pa. and Janet L. Phillips and her husband, Tom, of Carmichaels; six grandchildren, Tami Rizzo and her husband, Nick, Belinda Koast and her husband, John, Traci Fox, Ashley Andrenok, Shawnna Varner and Stephanie Andrenok; a great granddaughter, Natalie Rizzo; two brothers, Ernie Krutko and his wife, Peggy, of Cleveland, Ohio and Larry Krutko and his wife, Betty, of Waynesburg; a sister, Eileen Czworskowski and her husband, Stanley, of Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Norma Jean Klein; a son-in-law, Jon Swan and a daughter-in-law, Darlene "Toni" Hopton. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 with the Rev. Rebecca F. Dittenhafer officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 224 South Market Street, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
