Alice Jones

Alice L. Jones, age 93 of Greensboro, Pa., died Sunday, March 16, 2008 in her home following a brief illness. She was born December 5, 1914 in Morgantown, W.Va. a daughter of the late Roy Lee and Marguerite (Bitterlan) McLaughlin. She was a graduate of Point Marion High School and resided most of her life in the Greensboro area. Mrs. Jones worked in the former Penn Pitt Elementary School Cafeteria for about twenty years, where she became the Cafeteria Manager. She was a former member of the Women's Civic Club and a member of the Greensboro Presbyterian Church, both of Greensboro. Mrs. Jones was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she especially enjoyed the company of her great grandchildren. She married Richard A. Jones, Sr. who died December 29, 1966. Surviving are two sons, Jack K. Jones of Columbus, Ohio and Kenneth L. Jones and his wife Edwina of Sarasota, Fla.; a daughter Jane A. Descutner and her husband William of Greensboro; 15 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; a brother Edward McLaughlin and a sister Phyllis McLaughlin both of Point Marion, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are two sons, Donald M. Jones and Richard A. Jones, Jr.; a brother Fred McLaughlin and a sister Virginia Hiles. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 22, 2008 with the Rev. Dr. Robert M. Randolph officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Twp., Waynesburg, Pa.
