Dennis Danforth

Dennis J. "Denny" Danforth, 58 of Nemacolin, Pa. died at 11:35 P.M. Sunday, May 20, 2007 in his home following a lengthy illness. He was born November 17, 1948 in Uniontown, Pa. a son of Walter A. and Gladys A. Cales Danforth both of Carmichaels, Pa. Mr. Danforth resided in Cumberland Township most of his life and was a Vietnam veteran having served in the U. S. Army. He was a proud member of the Carmichaels American Legion Post 400, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 of Carmichaels and a former member of the AmVets in Uniontown. He was also a member of the First Christian Church in Carmichaels. Mr. Danforth worked as a deck hand for the Mon River Towing Company and enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and was a very good handyman. He also enjoyed collecting miniature sail boats and elephants. Surviving in addition to his parents are two sons Clinton J. Danforth and his wife Rhonda of Springfield, Mo. and Jeffery S. Danforth of Nemacolin; a daughter Theresa M. Maskil and her husband, Walter of Nemacolin; 10 grandchildren; a brother Mark A. Danforth of Crucible, Pa.; his companion Helen E. Fox with whom he made his home; six aunts Vivian Cohen of Carmichaels, Marilyn Banghart of Carmichaels, Bernice Barnhart of New Stanton, Pa. Judy Burkhart and Mary Herilla both of Springdale, Pa. and Ellen Carpenter of Carmichaels. Family and friends are welcomed to visit with the family from 2 to 4 P.M. Thursday, May 24, 2007 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa., where a memorial service will follow the visitation at 4:00 P.M. with the Rev. Reagan L. Fike officiating. Full military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by the Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 of Carmichaels.
