Emma I. Carter, 87, of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly at 9:15 A.M. on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the emergency room at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born July 18, 1919 in Luzerne Township, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Kozora Blizman. Mrs. Carter resided in Carmichaels since 1945 where she was a member of the First United Methodist Church. On October 4, 1936, she married James Yeckel Carter, who died July 30, 2003. Surviving are two sons, James Ronald Carter and his wife, Lorraine of Waterford, Pa. and Barry Wayne Carter and his wife, Cathy of Carmichaels; two daughters, Joan C. Gray of Centereach, Long Island, N. Y. and Susan G. Carter of Carmichaels; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, Philip Raymond Carter; three brothers, Steve, William and John Blizman and three sisters, Julia Schifko, Elizabeth Layhew and Mary Kronk. Family and friends are welcomed from 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 with the Rev. Roger C. Saunders officiating. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Greene County Memorial Park.
