Frank J. Vavrinec

Frank J. Vavrinec of Sierra Vista, Ariz. and formerly of Ramsey, New Jersey, died at 2:00 A.M. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Northwest Medical Center, Tucson, Ariz. He was born February 27, 1917 in Little Neck, Long Island, N. Y, a son of the late Matthew and Catherine Vavrinec. Mr. Vavrinec was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church of Ramsey, N. J. for over 50 years and retired in 1987 as a self employed mason contractor. On August 14, 1941, he married Helen M. Fabery, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Richard Vavrinec and his wife, Mary of Dennis Mass. and Ronald Vavrinec of Ramsey, N. J.; a daughter, Marleen Sosonko and her husband, Stuart of Carbondale, Col.; four grandchildren, Vicky Vavrinec, Amy Bennami, Sean Sosonko and Ashley Sosonko; a great grandson, Tarik Bennami; a brother, Adolph Vavrinec of the State of N. Y. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Michael, Joseph and John Vavrinec and a sister, Josephine McEntee. Family and friends are welcomed from Noon to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, April 21, 2008. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 A. M. on Monday at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday in the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
