Gert Humbert

Gert Humbert, 77 of Greensboro (Cabbage Flats), Pa. died Tuesday, December 4, 2007 in Point Manor Personal Care Home, Point Marion, Pa. following a brief illness. She was born November 18, 1930 in Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles Vernon and Josephine (Smith) Jamison. Mrs. Humbert was an active member of the Mapletown Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and enjoyed pie making with the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Carmichaels Lions Club and a former member of Emerald Chapter No. 135, O. E. S. Mrs. Humbert enjoyed craft work, pottery, traveling and square dancing with her husband, which included a trip to Europe. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and will forever be cherished by her family. On September 30, 1950 she married James C. (Jay) Humbert, Jr. who survives. Also surviving is a son James C. Humbert, III and his wife Barb of New Cumberland, W. Va.; a daughter Tina L. Friday and her husband Kevin of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Jessica Holloway, Michael Holloway and Brianna Humbert; four step-grandchildren, Michelle Wallace, Richard Dennis, John Friday and Andrew Friday; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Jamison and his wife Rita of North Royalton, Ohio and Herbert Jamison and his wife Martha of Medina, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents are two grandchildren, Jason Christopher Humbert and Christina Michelle Holloway and a sister Anna Norma Jamison, who died in infancy. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday and from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 7, 2007 with Pastor Erwin (Woody) Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro. Carmichaels Lions Club will conduct a memorial service at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday in the funeral home.
