Glenn Kauffman, 88 of Waynesburg Pa. for the last two months and formerly of Harrisburg, Pa. , died unexpectedly Sunday, November 18, 2007 in the home of his sister-in-law, Shirley Christopher Romine of Waynesburg. He was born August 25, 1919 in Johnstown, Pa. a son of the late Morton F. and Caroline E. Kauffman. Mr. Kauffman was a graduate of Ferndale High School and Cambria-Rowe Business College and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was a disabled veteran of WW II having served in the US Navy. Upon his return from duty he became an office manager for ACME Markets in Johnstown and Baltimore, Md. Mr. Kauffman later transferred and ultimately retired from Pennsylvania State Government, having worked in the Governors Office under four governors and several other state departments and agencies. He also owned and operated various apartment buildings in the Harrisburg area. Mr. Kaufmann was a life member of the National Counsel of State Garden Clubs, Harrisburg Area Civic Garden Center and the Colonial Country Club. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Elks, the Greater Johnstown Lodge No. 538 F. & A. M., Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of New Castle, Zembo Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Harrisburg Forest No. 43. Surviving are his wife Doreen Christopher Dew Kauffman of Waynesburg; a niece Linda Appler and her husband Russel; a nephew Clifford Kauffman, Jr.; a great niece Kersten Appler and a great nephew Mikeal Appler all of Phoenixville, Pa. Also surviving are several brothers and sisters-in-law. Deceased in addition to his parents is a brother Clifford Kauffman. Family and friends are welcome from 2:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a Masonic service will be held at 6:30 P.M. followed by Funeral Services with the Rev. Harold O. Kelley and Rev. David Barrett officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491. Interment will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 23, 2007 in Grandview Cemetery, Johnstown, Pa. with the Rev. Harold O. Kelley officiating.
