Helen M. Smith

Helen M. Smith, 82 of Carmichaels, Pa. died at 7:42 A. M. Thursday, June 12, 2008 in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. following a brief illness. She was born April 19, 1926 in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pa. a daughter of the late Paul and Carolina (Skanik) Kukan. She lived most of her life in the Carmichaels area, where she owned and operated Helen Smith Beauty shop for the past forty years. Mrs. Smith enjoyed participating in her card club and cooking Sunday dinners for her family. Surviving are two sons, Harry B. Smith, Jr. and his wife Linda of Rices Landing, Pa. and Randal A. Smith at home; a brother Steve Kukan of Bedford, Ohio and a sister Caroline Kucan of Uniontown, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Deceased is her husband Harry B. Smith, Sr., who died April 30, 1962; two brothers, Paul and John Kukan and two sisters, Irma Kukan and Annie Genduso. Family and friends are welcomed from 1 to 3 P. M. and 6 to 8 P. M. Sunday, June 15, 2008 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a Blessing Service will be held at 7:00 P. M. on Sunday with the Rev. John M. Bauer officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa.
