Henry Muhar

Henry E. Muhar, age 87 of Uniontown, Pa. and formerly of Greensboro, Pa. died Friday, July 6, 2007 in Golden LivingCenter - Uniontown. He was born September 13, 1919 in Brier Hill, Pa. a son of the late Stanley Muhar and Cecelia (Wojcik) Muhar Stetsko. Mr. Muhar was a 1939 graduate of Mapletown High School and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps camp in the State of Montana and also Somerset, Pa. from 1940 to 1941. He retired as a mechanic from the Duquesne Light Warwick Mine in January 1982 after 41 years of service. Mr. Muhar was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Greensboro and a former member of the Carmichaels Senior Center. On June 26, 1943, he married Dorothy Urban who died October 28, 2005 after 62 years of marriage. Mr. Muhar was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a truly gifted individual who could grow, fix and build just about anything and he will be greatly missed by his family. Surviving are two sons, Andrew R. Muhar of Penn Hills, Pa. and Ronald H. Muhar and his wife Charlene of Aliquippa, Pa.; a daughter, Marlene A. Matyus and her husband, John of Carmichaels, Pa.; five grandchildren, Raquel Muhar, Dana Muhar, Megan Muhar, Valerie Matyus and Leslie Matyus; a brother, Walter Muhar of Lackawanna, N. Y. and two sisters, Sophia Franks of Buffalo, N. Y. and Mary Brozak of Waynesburg, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his wife are a brother, Chester Muhar and a sister, Stella Roebuck. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A.M. in the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum in Greene County Memorial Park. A parish vigil service will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Monday in the funeral home.
