Joseph R. Shylock

Joseph R. Shylock, 84 of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of New Alexandria, Pa., died on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born March 12, 1923 in Salemville, Pa., a son of the late Theodore and Mary Shylock. Mr. Shylock served in the South Pacific with the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Cumberland American Legion Post 400 of Carmichaels and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 of Masontown, Pa. Surviving are his wife, Josephine (Vince) Shylock; two sons, Joseph A. Shylock and his wife, Emily of Houtzdale, Pa. and Kenneth Lee Shylock of State College, Pa.; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Virginia Walker of Virginia and Kay McGuckin and her husband, Roy of San Diego, Cal. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, John Shylock and two sisters, Rose Shylock and Nellie Kersten. At the request of Mr. Shlock, there was no public viewing or funeral service and his body was donated to science.
