Joseph Rendziak, 89 of Rices Landing, Pa. and formerly of Canonsburg, Pa., died at 3:45 A.M. on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born September 20, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Peter and Anna (Cywk) Rendziak. Mr. Rendziak enlisted into the U. S. Navy in 1935 and served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He received three honorable discharges from the Navy and last served aboard the U. S. S. Kasan Bay. Mr. Rendziak worked for General Heating Company and for many year serviced furnaces in the Canonsburg area. He also worked for the former Cooper Industries of Canonsburg. Mr. Rendziak attended Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Rices Landing. His wife, Mary K. Rendziak survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Dolores Pagano and her husband, John of Meadowlands, Pa.; a son, Joseph Rendziak and his wife, Carolyn of Houston, Pa.; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and two sisters, Pearl Barbosky of South Carolina and Ann Geary and her husband, Walter of Baltimore, Md. On May 21, 1942, he married Ann L. Urbanic, who died July 19, 1968. Also deceased are a brother, John Rendziak and two sisters, Rose Griffith and Mary Melaney. At the request of the deceased there was no public viewing. Private interment took place on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, Washington County, Pa. with the Rev. John M. Bauer officiating.
