Marguerite Peggy Marquis

Marguerite "Peggy" Marquis, 65 of Greensboro, Pa. (Cabbage Flats) died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. following a four month illness. She was born November 17, 1942 in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Robert C. and Selma (Gabler) Mavin. Mrs. Marquis was a 1960 graduate of Mapletown High School and went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Education from Waynesburg College. She retired as an elementary teacher in the Southeastern Greene School District. Mrs. Marquis was an active member and elder of the Greensboro Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, where she was currently serving as Clerk of Session. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and Pennsylvania State Education Retirees. Mrs. Marquis enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and was a loving wife, mother, sister and was known for her caring nature to all whom she touched. On March 7, 1970 she married Gary L. Marquis who survives. Also surviving is a daughter Laura E. Marquis of Greensboro and a sister Arcie M. Luzier and her husband Rick of Indiana, Pa. Deceased in addition to her parents is a son Robert S. Marquis. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. Sunday and 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 11, 2007 with Dr. Robert M. Randolph officiating, pastor of the Greensboro Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro.
