Mary Jane Celli

Mary Jane Celli, 71, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Rices Landing, Pa., died at 1:16 P.M. on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at the Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. She was born May 27, 1936 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph F. and Helen C. (Shivinsky) Urbany. Mrs. Celli was a 1954 graduate of Cumberland Township (Carmichaels) High School and resided in the Carmichaels and Rices Landing areas all of her life. She was employed at one time as a receptionist for the late Dr. Ernest DeHaas in Carmichaels and had attended the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church of Rices Landing. Mrs. Celli enjoyed playing bingo and was a loving mother who was devoted to her family. Surviving are a son, Anthony Joseph Celli, at home; a daughter, Lisa A. Franks and her husband, Michael of Carmichaels; two step grandchildren, Michael S. Franks, Jr. and Heidi N. Franks; a brother, Howard R. Urbany, with whom she made her home; three sisters, Mildred Shumar of Willoughby Hills, Ohio, Bernadine Hicks and her husband, Donald of Brookpark, Ohio and Joan Cihon and her husband, Steve of Mentor, Ohio; the father of her children, William D. Celli of Ford City, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Bernard J. Urbany and Edwin J. Urbany. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Wednesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 17, 2008. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11:00 A.M. at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Crucible, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 3:45 P.M. on Wednesday in the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Greene County Special Olympics, P.O. Box 171, Mather, Pa. 15346.
