Frank V. Oros, Sr., 84, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 8:20 A. M. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after an extended illness. He was born December 19, 1921 in Oliver #2, Fayette County, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Anna Havrilla Oros. Mr. Oros resided in Carmichaels most of his life and served with the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. He worked at the Nemacolin Mine for 45 years and retired in 1987. Mr. Oros was a member of the Nemacolin Local 6290 of the U. M. W. A. and Cumberland American Legion Post 400. On June 30, 1951, he married Elaine C. Javorsky, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Frank V. Oros, Jr. and his wife, Raelene of Carmichaels and Bruce A. Oros and his wife, Linda of Washington, Pa.; a daughter, Lou Ann Vavreck and her husband, Mark of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, Mark Vavreck, Ranelle Oros, Natalie Oros and Carlie Oros and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three sisters, Helen Bertolino, Margaret Mieskosky and Ann Kollar. Family and friends are welcomed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P. M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 A. M. on Saturday, June 3, 2006, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 A. M. at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 P. M. on Friday in the funeral home.
