Paul W. Metcalf, 81, of Bobtown, Pa. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 3:05 A.M. on Monday, October 2, 2006 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. He was born March 14, 1925 in Emorysville, W. Va., a son of the late Lenzy F. and Ava P. Sherwood Metcalf. Mr. Metcalf resided in Bobtown for the past 20 years and retired from the Duquesne Light Warwick Mine in the early 1960's. Before working at Duquesne Light, he worked at Paw-Paw Fuel in Bobtown. Mr. Metcalf served with the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Duquesne Light Local of the U. M. W. A. and V. F. W. Post 6303 of Greensboro. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, wild crafting and his dogs. Mr. Metcalf cherished the company of his family, especially his grandchildren. On December 22, 1947, he married Pauline C. Bell, who survives. Also surviving are six sons, Gary W. Metcalf and his wife, Wilda of Carmichaels, Robert L. Metcalf of Nemacolin, Pa., Mark W. Metcalf and his wife, Colette of Carmichaels, Roger Paul Metcalf of Confluence, Pa., Carey Allen Metcalf and his wife, Mary of Fairchance, Pa. and Terry Lane Metcalf and his wife, Carol of Carmichaels; four daughters, Linda Diane Metcalf at home, Lana E. White and her husband, Edward of Rocky Mountain, N. C., Paula Y. Orsky, wife of the late Gary Orsky of Bobtown and Pamela Lynn Woodring and her husband, James, Jr. of Waynesburg, Pa.; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; a brother, Oliver (Gene) Metcalf and his wife, Eileen of Greensboro; a sister, Waltena Bellingham of Charleroi, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are five brothers, Ernest Metcalf, Arthur Hartman, Lee Hartman, Harper Metcalf and Charles Metcalf and three sisters, Lucresa Hoopergardner, Avanelle Hott and Freda Pratt. Family and friends are welcomed from 6 to 8 P. M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 with Pastor John Rich Dorean officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery, Davistown, Pa.
