Peter Dorsey, Jr.

Peter Dorsey, Jr., age 85 of Greensboro, Pa. died at 1:40 P.M. on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 in his home. He was born November 4, 1921 in Shoaf, Pa. a son of the late Peter and Margaret Marva Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey was a 1940 graduate of Georges Township High School in Fayette County. He was a U. S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, obtaining the rank of Technical Sergeant and serving in the European Theater. Upon returning home he owned and operated Dorsey's Watch Repair Shop in Masontown for over twenty years and also worked for Lynmar Manufacturing as a machinist having retired in 1985. He was a watch and radio repair enthusiast and an avid gardener. Mr. Dorsey was a Roman Catholic and a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 of Uniontown, Pa. In 1953, he married Elizabeth Oravetz who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jerry Dorsey and his wife Stephanie and Jim Dorsey and his wife Linda both of Greensboro, Pa.; two daughters, Lou Ann Morris and her husband Marshall of Dilliner, Pa. and Judy Wolfe and her husband Rick of Point Marion, Pa.; four grandchildren, Tabitha Rankin, Tammy Weston, Amy Litwinovich and Rica Wolfe; four great grandchildren, Travis and Tanner Weston, Jadyn Rankin and Lake Litwinovich; one brother Paul Dorsey and his wife Martha of Masontown, Pa. and one sister Geraldine Zelmar of Shoaf, Pa. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents is a grandson Jerry Dorsey, Jr.; one brother John Dorsey and one sister Margaret Fotta. Family and friends are welcomed from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 9, 2007, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A.M. at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa. Full military graveside rites will be accorded by the Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 both of Carmichaels. A parish vigil service will be held at 2:15 P.M. on Friday in the funeral home.
