P. Machelle Ream

P. MaChelle Ream, 53 of Little River, S. C. and formerly of Rices Landing and Carmichaels, Pa., died at 7:52 A.M. on Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at her home in Little River after a lengthy illness. She was born July 10, 1954 in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Pauline (Tomko) Clarchick. MaChelle was a 1972 graduate of the Carmichaels Area High School and attended Maryland Medical Secretarial School in Hagerstown, Md. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, S. C. and a former member of the Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Company. MaChelle worked as the Emergency Services Coordinator for Greene County, Pennsylvania for a number of years and was instrumental in initiating the original Greene County 911 system at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Waynesburg. She also trained Emergency Medical Technicians and worked with the Greene County Memorial Hospital in beginning their Advanced Life Support system. After her work with the County, MaChelle worked for Greene Podiatry Associates, Inc. in Waynesburg as long as her health permitted. On April 27, 1974, she married Barry L. Ream, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Paula Jo Powell and her husband, Eric of Dublin, Ohio and Natalie Owens and her husband, Josh of Scott Township, Pittsburgh, Pa.; a grandson, Connor Powell; a grandson soon to be born of Natalie and Josh Owens; a brother, John R. Clarchick and his wife, Adeline of Carmichaels; a sister, Lois Martin and her husband, Frank of Arnold, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Joseph and William Clarchick. Family and friends are welcome from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. A blessing service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, June 9, 2008 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 12:30 P.M. at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Shepherd Care Hospice, P. O. Box 392, Nichols, SC 29581. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday in the funeral home.
