Ronald Whipkey

Ronald L. Whipkey, Sr., 64 of Greensboro, Pa., died at 9:44 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. after a battle with cancer. He was born May 15, 1942 in Brier Hill, Pa., a son of the late Earl Eugene and Dorothy May Grimm Whipkey. Mr. Whipkey was a 1962 graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in the Greensboro area most of his life. He served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the sheet metal shop at West Virginia University after working there for 35 years. Mr. Whipkey was a member of the Mapletown United Methodist Church, V. F. W. Post 6303 of Greensboro and the Bobtown Rod and Gun Club. He served on the board of directors for the Mon View Park and coached midget wrestling for the Southeastern Greene School District. Mr. Whipkey enjoyed playing softball, hunting, fishing and camping. He cherished his family especially his grandchildren. On June 3, 1964, he married his "Angel", Judy A. Brumley, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Ronnie L. Whipkey, Jr. of Dilliner, Pa.; a daughter, Ronda A. Jeffries and her husband, Frank of Garards Fort, Pa.; two grandchildren, Frankie Jeffries and Garrett Jeffries; two sisters, Faye Hanlan of Ohiopyle, Pa. and Bonnie Habera of Acme, Pa.; a brother, Ray Whipkey of Seven Springs, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Fanny Whipkey of Volant, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother, Earl E. Whipkey. Family and friends are welcomed from 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 26, 2006. Pastor Kenneth A. Haines will officiate. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown with military honors accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Posts 6303 and 3491 and Cumberland American Legion Post 400.
