Samuel Mangan

November 30, 1928 — March 21, 2007

Samuel Mangan of Mount Pleasant and Mount Morris, Pa., died at 5:45 P.M. on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. He was born in East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pa., a son of the late Albert and Josephine (Pilato) Mangan. Mr. Mangan served in Germany with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and worked for Pittsburgh Plate Glass of Greensburg, Pa. Mr. Mangan was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3368, the Assunta Italian Club and the Firemen's Club all of Mount Pleasant. He and his wife, Catherine J. (Gallo) Mangan owned and operated the State Line Inn in Mount Morris for a number of years. Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother, Angelo Mangan and his wife, Norma of Scottdale, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Alfred Mangan and Anthony Mangan and two sisters, Edith Martin and Florence Mangan. Family and friends are welcomed to attend a memorial Mass at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Bobtown, Pa. with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 will accord military honors at the Church after the Mass. The family suggests that Masses be made to the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, P. O. Box 63, Bobtown, PA 15315.
