Betty T. Smyth, 86 of Carmichaels, Pa., formerly of Waynesburg, Pa., died at 11:00 P.M. on Friday, February 9, 2007 in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health the past two years. She was born February 15, 1920 in Barnesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late John and Carrie Lamp Twinem. Mrs. Smyth was a 1938 graduate of Barnesville (Ohio) High School and resided in Carmichaels since 1985. She was an employee of the former Kridel's Cleaners in Waynesburg and was a self-employed seamstress prior to retiring in 1985. She was a former member of the D.A.V. Post #123 in Waynesburg. She was an active volunteer member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmichaels. She was married to the late Albert J. Smyth who died on October 5, 1979. Surviving is a son, Christopher A. Smyth and his wife Peggy of Uniontown, Pa.; two grandchildren, Michelle Jean Smyth and Kimberley Marie Smyth Petrina; a great grandson, Garrett Christopher Smyth and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband are three brothers, John, Ralph and Leonard Twinem; two sisters, Helen McGrew and Hilda Schnur. She was the last of her immediate family. Family and friends are welcomed from 7 to 9 P.M. on Sunday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 with the Rev. Roger Saunders officiating. Interment will follow at Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the ASERA Care Hospice, 1500 Ardmore Blvd., Suite 501, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15221
