Thomas William Fox, 59 of R. D. #1, Greensboro, Pa., died at 2:50 A.M. on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in the Veterans Administration Hospital at Oakland, Pittsburgh, Pa after a five-year battle with cancer. He was born September 14, 1948 in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of Peggy (Allen) Fox of R. D. #1, Greensboro and the late Jesse William Fox. Mr. Fox was a 1966 graduate of Mapletown High School and attended Penn State University, Robert Morris College and Waynesburg College (now Waynesburg University). He served in Vietnam where he was a decorated U. S. soldier. Mr. Fox resided in the Greensboro area since 1979 and worked as a financial advisor in Pittsburgh for 15 years. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Morgantown, W. Va., a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was an avid hunter throughout the world. Mr. Fox and his wife, Marsha were lifetime members of the Safari Club International. He was president and founder of the Three State Chapter of the Safari Club International and a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Safari Club International. Mr. Fox was a former member of the Carmichaels Lions Club, the Rotary Club and the Elk Foundation. He was a great supporter of youth conservation and education for young hunters. On October 10, 1970, he married Marsha J. Crowley, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Thomas W. Fox, II and his wife, Tammy of Morgantown and Jeffrey Scott Fox and his wife, Ashley Mushett of Centreville, Va.; four grandchildren, Tori Leann Fox, Garrett Thomas Fox, Preston Charles Fox and Brady Scott Fox; a brother, Jesse Wayne Fox and his wife, Susan of Mount Morris, Pa.; a niece, Katherine Marie Fox and a nephew, Daniel Wayne Fox. In addition to his father, a brother, Daniel Edward Fox is deceased. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2008. Pastor David Goodin and Pastor Doug Miller will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Dunkard Township, Greene County, Pa. with full military honors accorded by Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 308 Elmhurst Street, Morgantown, WV 26505-3214.
