Joann Varesko

Joann Varesko, 63, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 10:40 A. M. on Monday, June 19, 2006 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born December 3, 1942 in Newport News, Va., a daughter of the late Joseph and Jean Daugherty Lewis. Mrs. Varesko resided in the Carmichaels area all of her life and had worked at the Slavonic Club at Crucible, Pa. for a number of years. On January 13, 1973, she married John E. Varesko, who died August 17, 1993. Surviving are two daughters, Debra L. Cowger of Lone Pine, Pa. and Tina M. Cowger of Jefferson, Pa.; three grandchildren, Kayla Varesko, Brianna Varesko and Lacy Varesko; a great grandson, Brenden Rush; three sisters, Donna Lacey and her husband, Regis of Woodbridge, Va., Norma Starostanko and her husband, Albert of Clarksville (Pitt Gas), Pa. and Cathy Bradley of Partlow, Va. and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Joann was loved by her caretakers, her cousin Kim Lewis and her friend, Tracy Ansell. Deceased is a daughter, Phyllis Jean Lewis. Family and friends are welcomed from 10:00 A. M. until 11:00 A. M., the hour of a memorial service on Saturday, June 24, 2006 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. with the Rev. John Rich Dorean officiating.
