Anna Zaby

Anna Petechell Zaby, 90, of Greensboro, Pa. died at 10:30 P. M. on Monday, July 3, 2006 at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born June 26, 1916 in Martin, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Charles and Mary Marcin Petechell. Mrs. Zaby was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Greensboro where she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society. On September 29, 1934, she married George Zaby, who died November 12, 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Zaby of Greensboro; three grandchildren, Lisa Skok, Debbie Brettrager and Tina McCormick; 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Groflo of Columbia Station, Ohio, Helen Lipscomb of Masontown, Pa. and Margaret Mirisciotti and her husband, Wilson of Detroit, Mich. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sons, George Zaby, who died in infancy and John C. Zaby; two brothers, John and Andrew Petechell and a sister, Julia Balash. Family and friends are welcomed from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P. M. on Thursday and Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 12:30 P. M. on Saturday, July 8, 2006, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P. M. at the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 8:30 P. M. on Friday in the funeral home.
