Jacqueline Mansell Halverson

Jacqueline Mansell Halverson, 61 of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly on Thursday evening, July 17, 2008 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born March 22, 1947 in Waynesburg, the daughter of Carol (Barger) Mansell of Bethel, Ohio and the late Ivan W. Mansell. On July 22, 1972, she married David Marshall Halverson, who preceded her in death. Jackie was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, sister and aunt and a special grandmother. She delighted in all children and spent her life trying to better the lives of many. Although she had only one daughter, she was a "mother" to many. Her generous heart knew no boundaries. Jackie's favorite past time was crocheting for her loved ones. Jackie was a devoted Christian and member of the Mather Christian Church. Surviving are her loving daughter, Davida Romanakis and her husband, Paul of Waynesburg; her precious grandchildren, Zachary, Alex, Marissa and Maddie Romanakis; Tamara Hopkins of Waynesburg, whom Jackie proudly considered her daughter; a step daughter, Janie Kay and her son, Jordan Kay of Frederick, Md.; a sister, Janine Mansell of Carmichaels; two brothers, Bill Mansell of Lincolnton, Ga. and Ivan Mansell of Bethel, Ohio; many nieces and nephews and her beloved pet, Abigail. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Darlene Adams and her precious grandson, Paul Romanakis. Her beautiful smile and kind heart will be missed by all who loved and knew her. Family and friends are welcome from Noon to 3 and 6 to 8 P. M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, July 21, 2008. Pastor Kenneth Jones will officiate. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Mather Christian Church, P.O. Box 37, Mather, PA 15346.
