Leila G. Hennessey

Leila G. "Bubba" Hennessey, 67 of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 9:12 A.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. She was born May 13, 1941 in Waynesburg, Pa. a daughter of the late Silvie Leroy Rich and Ruth (Workman) Rich Sanner. Mrs. Hennessey resided in the Carmichaels area all of her life and enjoyed camping, craftwork, and playing bingo. She cherished every moment she spent with her family and friends and was the pillar of her family. On December 29, 1958, she married Vincent M. Hennessey, who died December 26, 1980.

Surviving are three daughters, Ruth Ann Polander and her husband, Daniel of Rixeyville, Va., Lisa L. Allison and her husband, Todd of Carmichaels and Paddy L. Pratt and her husband, Preston of Rices Landing; six grandchildren Autumn R. Houston and her husband, Kevin, Sgt. Daniel R. Polander serving with the U. S. Army in Kuwait, Andrew A. Allison, Katlyn M. Allison, Parker A. Pratt and Pacey I. Pratt; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Natalie and Peyton Houston; a sister, Audrey A. DeSimone of Boca Raton, Fla. and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her companion of 22 years, Dwain H. B. "Smitty" Smith with whom she made her home. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are two grandsons, David Hennessey Polander and Patrick Robert Pratt and a brother, Leroy "Red" (Sonny) Rich.

Family and friends were welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service was held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008. The Revs. Harold O. Kelley, P. Keith Larson and Daniel T. Hennessey officiated. Interment followed at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. The family suggested that memorial donations be made to Women in the Church, Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
