Irene B. Minnick

Irene B. Minnick, 88 of Johnstown, Pa. and formerly of Greensboro (Hillman), Pa., died at 10:25 P.M. on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at the Allegheny Lutheran Home of Johnstown. She was born July 3, 1920 in Martin (Nicholson Township), Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Barbara (Stancik) Bogozi. Mrs. Minnick was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church of Greensboro and a former member of the the Church's Rosary Society. She moved to Johnstown in November of 1995 to reside with her daughter, Ruth Ann Ficco. On October 7, 1939, she married Michael J. Minnick, who died August 30, 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Ruth Ann Ficco and her husband, Don of Johnstown; three grandchildren, Michael Ficco and his wife, Angie, Matthew Ficco and his wife, Danni and Ann Dastur and her husband, Norm; six great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Agnes Bogozi of Masontown, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Joseph Bogozi and three sisters, Margaret Mogush, Elizabeth Phillips and Helen B. Shaffer. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. A blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Saturday, December 20, 2008 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Entombment will follow at the mausoleum at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 8:30 P.M. on Friday in the funeral home.
