Ellen Flynn Moats

Ellen Flynn Moats, 90 of Greensboro, Pa., died at 3:50 A.M. on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown, Pa. She was born July 11, 1918 in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Peter Francis and Alice Mae (Dillow) Flynn. Mrs. Moats resided in the Greensboro area most of her life and enjoyed bowling. She was a member of the Mapletown United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer of the United Methodist Women. On February 24, 1940, she married Kenneth D. Moats, who died December 10, 1985. Surviving are a son, Robert K. Moats and his wife, Jean of Westover, W. Va.; a daughter, Joy Lynne Miller and her husband, Douglas of Garards Fort, Pa.; four grandchildren, Susan Moreland and her husband, Larry, Douglas Miller, Jr. and his wife, Nellie, Robert Moats, II and his wife, Amy and Lori Fowler and her husband, Michael; five great grandchildren, Melissa, Amanda and Megan Moreland and Reese and Hadley Moats and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandson, Eric Moats; a brother, Peter J. Flynn and two sisters, Thelma Salyers and Edith Franks. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Pastor Kenneth A. Haines will officiate. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mapletown United Methodist Church, P. O.
