Rose J. Werry

Rose J. Werry, 93 of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 11:35 P.M. on Friday, February 20, 2009 in Rolling Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation, Waynesburg. She was born October 19, 1915 in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Harrison N. and Blanche (Ullom) Johnson. Mrs. Werry attended Waynesburg schools and was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carmichaels. She enjoyed crocheting, growing flowers and attending the Carmichaels Senior Center as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Werry cherished the company of her family, especially her grandchildren. On March 25, 1966 in Laboratory, Pa., she married Arthur W. Werry who died September 8, 1985. Surviving are a son, Jack F. Lightner and his wife, Judy of Waynesburg; ten grandchildren, John, Robin, Julia, Sam, Patti Ann, Angela, James, Jr., Jack, Kevin and Kimberly and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are three sons, Jerry Lightner, John E. Lightner and James A. Lightner; two brothers, James H. Johnson and Arthur D. Johnson and two sisters, Blanche Elizabeth Cain and Leota Jenkins. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P. M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 P. M. on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 with the Rev. Roger C. Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in Hewitt Cemetery, Rices Landing, Pa.
