Mildred Vignovitch Winger, 89 of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 2:25 A.M. on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born May 30, 1919 in Ronco (German Township), Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph Dusan and Anna (Latnovich) Vignovitch. Mrs. Winger lived her childhood in Crucible, Pa. and was a resident of Cumberland Township most of her life. She served as tax collector for Cumberland Township for 21 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carmichaels. She maintained a close relationship with her extensive family members and friends. During her retirement, she and her husband, Daniel Winger, II enjoyed traveling and vacationing throughout the eastern United States. Her husband, Daniel, who she married on January 27, 1947, died October 1, 2002. Surviving are a son, Daniel L. Winger, III and his wife, Darla of Waynesburg, Pa.; a step daughter, Marilyn Winger Showalter of Cleveland, Ohio; two grandchildren, Monica Bauer and Michelle Nardy; a sister, Helen Kopko of Naples, Fla. and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Deceased are a brother Michael Vignovitch and eight sisters, Mary Buttermore, Stella Tekavec, Veda Yasenka, Rose Prodan, Sue Balog, Cecelia Bohan, Sophie Vignovitch and Melicia Brkljac. Family and friends are welcome from Noon to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Monday, March 16, 2009. Pastor Erwin "Woody" Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First United Methodist Church, 104 W. South St., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
