Jennie Guzik Lasko

Jennie Guzik Lasko, 89 of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 1:55 P.M. on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at her granddaughter Tabitha Mattei's home with her loving family surrounding her. She was born December 17, 1919 in Latrobe, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Boggio) Guzik. Mrs. Lasko resided in the Carmichaels area most of her life where she was a member of the St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. On February 3, 1940, she married Albert Charles Lasko, who died October 27, 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Carol L. Norris and her husband, James of Tucson, Ariz. and Patricia L. Rulong of Carmichaels; four grandchildren, James Norris, III and his girl friend, Amber, Lisa Halliday and her husband, Craig, Tabitha Mattei and her husband, Alan and John A. Lasko and his fiancé, Kelly; three great grandchildren, Nicklas Mattei, Alicia Lasko and Tabitha Lasko; a brother, Matthew Guzik and his wife, Sue of Eastlake, Ohio; a sister, Mary Wahula of Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandson, Charles A. Lasko; a son, John A. Lasko; two brothers, John Guzik and Edward Guzik and a sister, Clara McFeaters. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. There will be no visitation on Easter Sunday. A blessing service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 13, 2009 in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A.M. at St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels. A vigil service will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Saturday in the funeral home.
