Joseph "Peanuts" Kendralla, 77 of Greensboro (Cabbage Flats), Pa., died unexpectedly at 12:01 A.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born November 20, 1931 in Penn Pitt (Monongahela Township), Greene County Pa., a son of the late John and Anna (Sheba) Kendralla, Sr. Mr. Kendralla was a 1950 graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in Monongahela Township all of his life. He worked for the Duquesne Light Warwick Mine for 41 years and retired on October 1, 1991 as third shift mine foreman. Mr. Kendralla was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Greensboro, American Legion Post 423 in Masontown, Pa. and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6303 in Greensboro. He was an avid supporter of West Virginia University Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Mapletown Maples and enjoyed playing golf. Mr. Kendralla was a former member of the Greensboro Hunting and Fishing Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. On June 20, 1953, he married Rose Frammartino, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie Henry and her husband, Rod of Carmichaels, Pa. and Rita L. King and her husband, Rocky of Dilliner, Pa.; three grandchildren, Shannon Henry, Brian Henry and his wife, Amber and Angela King Liggett and her husband, Jerrod; two great grandchildren, Jordon Magee and Dylan Blake; a brother, Frank "Mitch" Kendralla and his wife, Rosemarie of Aliquippa, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Josephine Kendralla of Dilliner and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers, Joseph Kendralla, who died in childhood, John Kendralla, Jr. and Edward Kendralla and two sisters, Mary Johnson and Ann Trenz. Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A.M. at the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 8:30 P.M. on Monday in the funeral home.
