Hazel Velma Dean Watters

Hazel Velma Dean Watters, 97 of Carmichaels, Pa. died Monday, June 29, 2009 in Precious Moments Personal Care Home, Carmichaels. She was born September 8, 1911 at (Frosty Run) Whiteley Township, Greene County, Pa. a daughter of the late Reason and Clara (Ruse) Dean. Mrs. Watters was a homemaker and resided most of her life in the Cumberland Township area. She was a member of the Carmichaels Women's Civic Club, the Warrior Trail Association and the Town & Country Garden Club of Rices Landing. Mrs. Watters enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved cats and dogs. She was also a member of the Fairdale Free Methodist Church, Carmichaels. On June 16, 1951 she married Paul T. Watters who died Nov. 23, 1970. She is the last of her immediate family. Surviving are several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are two brothers, John Lindsey Dean and Clarence Russell Dean and three sisters, Martha Sloneker, Elizabeth Lashinsky and Laura Hostetler. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 1, 2009 with Pastor Chuck Durso officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
