Ruth Nashwinter Simons Uram, 86 of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 9:30 P.M. on Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born June 10, 1923 in Meyersdale, Pa., a daughter of the late Leo and Emma (Cramer) Nashwinter. Mrs. Uram resided in Carmichaels for a number of years where she had been employed as a cook at the former Guardian Angel Personal Care Home in Carmichaels. She enjoyed cooking, baking and playing bingo and was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Surviving are two sons, William R. Simons, Sr. of Carmichaels and Robert E. Simons, Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Masontown, Pa.; two daughters, Judith Rush and her husband, Bruce and Patty L. Helmick and her husband, Earl all of Carmichaels; nine grandchildren, Kevin Rush, Brian Rush, William Simons, Jr., Nicole Simons, Stephanie Housel, Patricia Helmick, Sonya Reichenbach, Jennifer Shope and Justin Simons; 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Grace Baker and her husband Paul of Carmichaels; several nieces and nephews and the father of her children, Robert E. Simons, Sr. of Carmichaels. Deceased are her second husband, Andrew Uram; four brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Fred and Bruce Nashwinter and a sister, Catherine Petrovich. Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 7 P.M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 1, 2009. The Rev. Dr. Donald Wilson will officiate. Interment will be private
