Arthur "Babe" Leasure, 79 of Masontown, Pa. died at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 in his home. He was born September 14, 1929 in Nicholson Twp., Fayette County, Pa. a son of the late James and Minnie (Hughes) Leasure. Babe was a graduate of Masontown High School and resided all of his life in Masontown. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. Babe worked at the former Nemacolin Mine in the 1970's and also worked as a self employed plasterer for many years. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed raising Christmas trees, woodworking, hunting and fishing. Babe was a lifetime member of the Masontown Fish and Game Club and a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Faith-Gray-McArdle Post 4584 of Masontown. He cherished his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. His wife, Anna Leasure, whom he married on September 3, 1960, survives. Also surviving are two sons, Earl F. Clark and his wife, Sherry and Arthur G. Leasure, Jr. and his wife, Cindy both of Masontown; two daughters, Arlene F. McManis and her husband, Fred of Greensboro, Pa. and Patricia A. Leasure and her companion, Charles Harbarger of Masontown; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter; a sister Mary Ann Martin and her husband, Bud of Romulus, Mich.; two sons-in-law, Richard Adams of Masontown and Wayne Switalski of Mount Morris, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to his parents are two daughters, Kathryn "Sis" Adams and Carol E. Switalski; six brothers, James "Bus" Leasure, Chauncy "Tuck" Leasure, Clarence "Bub" Leasure, Ross Leasure, William Leasure and Mickey Leasure and two sisters, Ella Langstaff and Cora Esche. Family and friends are welcomed from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday and 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 5, 2009 with the Rev. Harold O. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Greendale Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
