Edith Hawk Billetz, 77 of Greensboro, Pa., died at 3:30 A.M. on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. with her family at her side. She was born June 13, 1932 in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late James Edward and Helen E. (Namish) Hawk. Mrs. Billetz was a 1950 graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in the Greensboro area all of her life. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Greensboro where she served as Rosarian for the Rosary Altar Society and also maintained and decorated the Church altar for many years. In addition, Mrs. Billetz served on the board of directors and in the office of treasurer for Cornerstone Care in Greensboro and worked on the Monongahela Township Election Board. She was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate and Penguins fan and enjoyed traveling with the seniors on various trips to casinos. On March 17, 1950, she married Steven F. Billetz, who died March 24, 2007. Surviving are a son, Stephen E. Billetz, Jr. and his wife, Donna Lee of Dilliner, Pa.; a daughter, Stephanie A. Mallory and her husband, Charles Ray of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Myra L. Billetz Morgan and her husband, Justin and Marlaina Raye Mallory Stevenson and her husband, Jarod; a brother, Charles E. Hawk and his wife, Wanda of Greensboro and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 8 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Friday, September 18, 2009, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A. M. at the Holy Family Worship Site of the St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish, Greensboro with the Rev. Lawrence V. Holpp as celebrant. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.
