Stephen Richard Cihon, Jr, 67 of Mentor, Ohio and formerly of Nemacolin, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, in Willoughby, Ohio after a brief illness. He was born May 27, 1942, in Nemacolin, Pa., the son of the late Steven Richard Cihon, Sr. and Anna (Budovich) Cihon. Steve's greatest love was playing music on his accordion. He was a member of local polka bands and also played the piano. Steve loved flying and tinkering on cars and greatly enjoyed military and World War II history. He worked for 20 years at Marshall Carpet in Cleveland, Ohio as a salesman until his retirement in 2007. Surviving are his beloved wife of 44 years, Joan (Urbany) Cihon; his loving family, son Daniel Cihon; daughters Pamela Bartholomew and her husband, Timothy and Angela Trend and her husband, David; a grandson, Jordan Jonke; a sister, Carolyn Smolinski and her husband, Ronald; his nieces, nephews, cousins and his faithful Shih-Tzu, Jessie. Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Grace Church of Mentor, 6883 Reynolds Road, Mentor, Ohio 44060 where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 1, 2009. Pastor Tim Potter will officiate. Interment will follow at Willoughby Memorial Gardens.
