Helen Turian

Helen Turian, 88 of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Marianna, Pa., died at 7:30 A.M. on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. She was born November 15, 1921 in Marianna, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul and Albina Matula. Mrs. Turian resided in Carmichaels since 1974 where she was a member of the St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines. Mrs. Turian cherished her family and friends and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. On January 31, 1942, she married John Turian, who survives. Also surviving are a son, John Turian, Jr. of Brooklyn, N. Y.; three daughters, Genevieve Johnson and her husband, Jeff of Carmichaels, Frances Pollaro of Staten Island, N. Y. and Colette Metcalf and her husband, Mark of Carmichaels; three grandchildren, Janine Skochelak and her husband, Barry of Keedysville, Md., Jeff Johnson, Jr. and his wife, Lori of Beckley, W. Va. and Curtis Johnson and his wife, Angie of Clarksville, Pa.; four great grandchildren, Tyler, Joshua, Erica and Erin Johnson; a step brother, Joseph Kudlac of Richeyville, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son, David A. Turian; two brothers and a sister and her step father, Andrew Kudlac. Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 9 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Friday, December 18, 2009, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Rices Landing, Pa. with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
