Bertha T. Howard, 81 of Greensboro, Pa., died at 12:15 P.M. on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She was born July 17, 1928 in Poland Mines, Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late James E. and Myrtle (Hager) Bell. Mrs. Howard was a homemaker and resided in Greene County all of her life. She was Pentecostal and enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening. Mrs. Howard cherished her family and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. On February 13, 1943, she married John Sherwood Howard, who died November 3, 2000. Surviving are two sons, John E. Howard and his wife, Shirley of Greensboro and Donald S. Howard of Mount Morris, Pa.; 14 grandchildren, John Self, Brenda Darr, Robert Self, Frank Howard, Bertha Regina Howard, Tammy Mayle, Donald S. Howard, Tracy Atwood, Diane Howard, Michael Howard, Jonathan Howard, Amy Ponzoo, Scott Howard and Lori Rankin; 28 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Metcalf of Bobtown, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a son, Gary Howard, who died in infancy; two daughters, Donelda V. Self and Betty Jean Howard; six grandchildren, John S. Howard, Linda Howard, Maxine Darr, Holly Self, Britney Howard and Bonnie Michaels; five brothers, Thomas, Robert, James, Archie and William "Woody" Bell and a sister, Dorothy Richards. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Pastor Erwin "Woody" Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow at Garards Fort Cemetery, Garards Fort, Pa.
