Josephine A. Leasure

Josephine A. Leasure, 97 of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 7:17 P.M. on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born December 29, 1912 in Baggaley, Unity Township, Westmoreland County, Pa., a daughter of the late Vincent and Anna (Banik) O'Lear. Mrs. Leasure resided in Cumberland Township, Greene County most of her life. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Carmichaels where she taught Sunday school for many years. On September 3, 1929, she married Charles D. Leasure, who died April 17, 1983. Surviving are two sons, George K. Leasure and his wife, Margie of Washington, Pa. and James F. Leasure and his wife, Leora of Eighty Four, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 23 great great grandchildren; a sister, Sophia Volk of Masontown, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a daughter, Dolores David; a son, Charles M. Leasure; four brothers, John Smith, Andy Smith, John O'Lear and Frank O'Lear and seven sisters, Edna Nootny, Mary Smith, Helen Koval, Katie Koval, Annie Swarlis, Mary Holupka and Elizabeth Orshowitz. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 16, 2010. The Rev. Reagan Fike will officiate. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church, P. O. Box 193, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
