Janet W. Cratty

Janet W. Cratty, 82 of Garards Fort, Pa., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 02, 2010 in her home. She was born April 12, 1927 in Brownsville, Pa. a daughter of the late John Abraham and Naomi Leona (Grawthrop) Wheeler. Mrs. Cratty was a 1945 graduate of Brownsville High School and was a resident of Headlee Heights since 1959. She worked as an Licensed Practical Nurse for a short time before working as a Pharmacy Technician at the former Greene County Memorial Hospital, until her retirement. Mrs. Cratty enjoyed reading and was very active with her high school class reunion committee. She most enjoyed her "card ministry", constantly sending cards and encouraging those around her. Mrs. Cratty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Greensboro and was a member of Uniontown Chapter #263, O. E. S. of Uniontown, Pa. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On September 4, 1948 she married Herman G. Cratty, who died November 21, 1998. Surviving is a son, Kelly T. Cratty of Clarksville, Pa.; two daughters, Sally Gail Crouser and her husband Brad of Charleston, W. Va. and Jill Pekar and her husband J. D. of Dilliner, Pa.; ten grandchildren, Kristi Howard and her husband Robert, Jessica Inch and her husband Chad, Wesley Crouser and his wife Beth, Julie Crouser, Christopher Cratty, Eileen Cratty, Hayley Cratty, Kyle Cratty, Keaton Cratty and Karleigh Cratty; three great grandchildren, Brittney Howard, Levi Howard and Joshua Howard; one brother, John A. Wheeler and his wife Lorraine of Salinas, Cal. and one sister, Dakota Thornton of Merritt Island, Fla. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is a son, H. G. Cratty, and a brother, Harry Wheeler. Family and friends are welcomed from 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Wesley Crouser, her grandson, officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Albert Gallatin Hospice, 20 Highland Park Dr., Uniontown, Pa. 15401.
