Isabel M. Rankin

Isabel M. Rankin, 90 of Carmichaels, Pa. died Saturday, February 13, 2010 in her home following a brief illness. She was born March 15, 1919 in Dunlevy, Pa. a daughter of the late Robert E. and Isabel H. (Courtley) Crowl. Mrs. Rankin was a graduate of Charleroi High School and went on to receive her teaching degree from the former California Teachers College in California, Pa. She resided most of her life in the Carmichaels area, where she taught until her retirement at the Central and Crucible schools in the Carmichaels Area School District. Mrs. Rankin and her family enjoyed traveling in their motor home and were members of the Mt. Laurel Rambler Camping Club. She was also a longtime member of the Rices Landing Boat Club. Mrs. Rankin was a member of the Carmichaels First United Methodist Church. On February 27, 1943 she married Raymond L. Rankin who died on April 3, 2008. Surviving is a son, William L. Rankin of Carmichaels; a daughter, Susan C. Frye and her husband Victor of Carmichaels; five grandchildren, Michelle S. Frye, Carolyn A. Berry, Robin Marmie, James Rankin and Sherri Whipkey; ten great grandchildren; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is a son, Robert R. Rankin and a sister, Dorothy Crowl. Family and friends are welcomed from 2 to 5 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 with the Rev. Bruce Judy officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels, Pa.
