David James Strickler of Mt. Morris, Pa, born September 1, 1951 to the late Freda "Janey" Self Strickler and Joseph "Curly" Strickler, died suddenly Sunday, March 7, 2010. He received his Masters Degree Magna Cum Laude at Fairmont State College and was a highly valued counselor at Pressley Ridge Center in Waynesburg, Pa. He will be fondly remembered for his patient kindness, compassion, and generosity to all and his infallible willingness to help anyone at any time. He excelled at gardening, country wisdom, elegant entertaining, and above all, his unsurpassed culinary expertise which included superb seafood bisque. Most notably, he was the proud father and grandfather of son Kevin, daughter Amanda, daughter-in-law Sarah, and granddaughter Madison. He will be greatly missed by his wife of twenty-two years, Debbie Ross and her family, his sisters Geneva and Debbie, his brothers Buddy and Wayne, and fifteen nieces and nephews, his extended family, friends, and co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his beloved Jerry "Granny" McDilda. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 from 4-6PM at the Miracle Mission Church in Mt. Morris, Pa.
