Dennis L. Hickman

Dennis L. Hickman, 56 of Greensboro, Pa., died at 9:20 A.M. on Friday, July 2, 2010 in the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. He was born September 9, 1953 in Washington, a son of Emma (Kovacs) Hickman Colburn of Brownsville, Pa. and the late Robert Hickman. Mr. Hickman was a 1971 graduate of Beth Center High School and resided in Greensboro for the past 15 years. He was a member of the St. George Serbian Orthodox Church of Carmichaels and worked at the Beth Energy Mine in Marianna, Pa. until the mine closed. Mr. Hickman retired from the Consolidated Coal Company Dilworth Mine and enjoyed woodworking and farming. He was a kind and gentle man who was devoted to his family. He especially cherished spending time with his two granddaughters. On July 1, 1972, he married Norma Pataski who survives. Also surviving are a son, Dennis L. Hickman, Jr. at home; a daughter, Tina Sivak and her husband, Philip of Daisytown, Pa.; two granddaughters, Anya and Ksenya Sivak; a sister, Kimberly Ford of Maryland and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Robert Hickman and Keith Allen Hickman. Family and friends are welcome from Noon to 3 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A. M. on Monday, July 5, 2010 at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, 286 Old Route 21 Road, Carmichaels, Pa. with the Very Rev. Dr. Rodney Torbic officiating. Interment will follow at Horn Cemetery, Marianna. A Pomen service will be held at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday in the funeral home.
