Marie F. Hatalla

Marie F. Hatalla, 88 of Nemacolin, Pa., died unexpectedly at 6:00 A.M. on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Rolling Meadows Nursing, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born December 8, 1921 in Hiller, Fayette County, Pa., a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Regula) Lipchinsky. Mrs. Hatalla was a 1939 graduate of Cumberland Township High School in Carmichaels, Pa. and was a lifelong resident of Nemacolin. She was a member of the Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Nemacolin were she was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Christian Mothers. Until a few weeks ago, Mrs. Hatalla volunteered her time at the Church. She enjoyed cooking and cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On June 15, 1940, she married Joseph M. Hatalla, who died August 12, 1988. Surviving are a son, Joseph M. Hatalla and his wife, Gloria of Orrville, Ohio; two daughters, Josephine Hatalla and Marian Taylor and her husband, David, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; four grandchildren, Steven Hatalla of Sacramento, Cal., John Hatalla and his wife, Tammy of Magnolia, Ohio; Andrea Lamatrice and her husband, Joseph of Pittsburgh and Kaytea Takacs of Pittsburgh; three great grandchildren, Zoe Rae, Giulia Marie and Jenna Marie; a brother, Joseph Lipchinsky of Harbor Springs, Mich.; a sister, Edith Caliguiri of Pittsburgh and numerous nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Bernard Lipchinsky and Walter Lipchinsky; three sisters, Sophie Payson, Stella Borytsky and Betty Hoist and a son-in-law, Carl Takacs. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 9:15 A.M. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, Nemacolin with the Rev. John M. Bauer as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa. A vigil service will be held at 3:45 P.M. on Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
