Emogene "Emma" Riley, 72 of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 4:35 P.M. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. after a brief illness. She was born January 19, 1938 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late Daniel Craft and Mildred (Helmick) Ewart and the step daughter of Delores Ewart of Carmichaels. Mrs. Riley resided in Cumberland Township most of her life. She was a member of the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 22, Chapter 318, of Washington. Mrs. Riley was an avid bingo player and enjoyed cooking and baking. She cherished her family especially her grandchildren and great granddaughter. On June 6, 1961 in Newport News, Va., she married Bruce M. Riley, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Bruce "Bubba" Riley and David L. Riley, Sr. and his wife Carletta, all of Carmichaels and Gary L. Riley, Sr. of Morgantown, W. Va.; two daughters, Pamela J. Dobish and Melanie J. Coss and her husband, R. J., all of Carmichaels; nine grandchildren, Whitney Riley, David L. Riley, Jr., Jani L. Riley, Gary L. Riley, Jr., Emily Ann Riley, Louie Dobish, R. J. Coss, Jr., Lauren Dobish and Cara Dobish; a great granddaughter, Emma K. Arbogast; seven brothers, Ronald Ewart of Newville, Pa., Kenneth Ewart and his wife, Phyllis of Hampton, Va., Allen Ewart and his wife, Connie of Kent, Ohio, Ralph Ewart and his wife, Diane of Carmichaels, Dennis Ewart and his wife, Patty of Clarksville, Pa., Jeff Ewart and his wife, Barb of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio and John Ewart and his wife, Shari of Carmichaels; four sisters, Carol Osborne and her husband, Michael "Oz" of Cuyahoga Falls, Donna Williams and her husband Evan and Patty Reynolds and her husband, James all of Carmichaels and Nancy Harbarger of Crucible, Pa. and several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Thursday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 3, 2010 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The Rev. Harold O. Kelley will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
