Jimmy Walters, Ii

James A. "Jimmy" Walters, II, 46 of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly at 7:13 P. M. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. after a brief battle with cancer. He was born September 30, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Theresa J. (Zappone) Walters of Carmichaels and the late James A. Walters. Mr. Walters was a 1982 graduate of the Carmichaels Area High School, attended West Virginia University and resided most of his life in Cumberland Township, Greene County. Prior to moving to work in the State of California, Mr. Walters attended the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels. While in California, he worked in construction and later managed a hardware store. Upon returning to Greene County in the early 1990's, he worked for R. A. Matteucci in Dry Tavern, Pa. and also tended bar at the Red Star Inn in Carmichaels. Mr. Walters worked as a correctional officer at the Greene County Jail. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the West Virginia Mountaineers. Mr. Walters was a former member and line officer of the Crucible Volunteer Fire Company. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and companion and was known in his community for his kindness, gentleness, compassion and helpfulness. Surviving in addition to his mother are his brother, Charles "Butch" Walters and his wife, Dawn of Confluence, Pa.; two sisters, Barb Walters and her husband, Sean Maloy and Laura Walters and her husband, John Baily, all of Carmichaels; his longtime companion, Marci Rahl and her son, Ryan Rahl and granddaughter, Kaylie Rahl; a nephew, James C. Walters of Confluence and his faithful pets, Buck and Esco. Deceased in addition to his father is a nephew, Michael Walters. Funeral arrangements are private and under the direction of the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Private interment will take place at Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Pa. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370 or to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
