John Ira Roberts

John Ira Roberts, 44 of Point Marion, Pa. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa., died unexpectedly at 3:05 A.M. on Friday, November 19, 2010 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. He was born November 14, 1966 in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of Freda A. (Davis) Roberts of Carmichaels and the late William A. Roberts. Mr. Roberts attended Jefferson Morgan Schools in Greene County and attended church at the Faith Assembly of God in Uniontown, Pa. where he drove the church bus. In his early years, Mr. Roberts worked at Fran's Lawn and Garden in Waynesburg for six years. He then drove truck for Snyder Trucking, Daily Trucking, Bennett Truck Transport and then for Fractech Services. Mr. Roberts spent the past year caring for his children at home. On May 27, 2000, he married Tammy L. Skiles, who survives. Also surviving are a son Kristian J. Roberts at home; three daughters, Rachel C. Roberts, Chevelle E. Roberts and Cora M. Roberts, all at home; two brothers, William A. Roberts, Jr. and his wife Mary of Carmichaels and Daniel P. Roberts of Greensboro, Pa.; two sisters, Jean Carol Phipps and her husband, Gerald of Fairmont, W. Va. and Yvonne L. Suppok and her husband, Fran of Carmichaels; his father and mother-in-law, Russell and Beatrice Skiles of Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are his paternal grandparents, Ira and Jessie Roberts and his maternal grandmother, Ruth Eddy. Family and friends are welcome from Noon to 3 and 5 to 7 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the funeral home. Private entombment will take place at Greene County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family.
